What do we think about while fucking? Both the porn industry and the morally conservative lobby want us to believe that sex holds such an important position in our lives that we allow ourselves to succumb completely to our animal instincts. But is that really so? Does sex hold such a place in our lives that we think of nothing but our gratification? Or do we not frequently busy our thoughts with other matters while having sex? Shopping lists, or philosophical questions, for example. Or with the age-old question of what is art!
Again and again, art is being redefined. Artists, philosophers, critics – everyone has their own definition. Instead of offering a clear view on the matter, the vast number of these definitions further obfuscate the matter.
The quotes are questions that can inspire and occupy any artist and art lover. But not just any artist. They are questions that occupy many people. Even during sex, and perhaps especially when it comes to depictions of sex. Is porn art? A question whose answer we no longer have to wait for.
